Follow Me browser extension

Privacy

The short version: the extension reads nothing, collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

What it does

It draws an animal of your choice over the web page you are looking at, and the animal follows your pointer. To do that it needs to know where your pointer is and how far you have scrolled, and nothing else. It lays its own see-through layer over the page to draw on; it does not read the words, pictures, forms or links on any page, and it does not change them.

What it keeps

Only your settings: whether it is switched on, which animal you picked, the size, and any websites where you have asked it to stay away. These are kept by your browser in its own extension storage. If you are signed in to your browser with sync turned on, your browser may copy them to your other devices; that is your browser's own sync, and we never see them.

What it never does

• No accounts, no sign-in.
• No tracking, no analytics, no adverts.
• It never records which websites you visit. The "not on this site" list holds only the site names you add to it yourself, and stays in your browser.
• It never sends anything to us or anyone else. It has no server to send to.

Permissions it asks for

Run on all websites: so the animal can come with you wherever you go. Storage: to remember your settings. Active tab: so the menu can tell you which site you are on when you open it, for the "not on this site" button.
